Tucson Olympians Compete in Bejing 080808

Tucson, AZ Univeristy of Arizona Swimming and Diving will be well represented in Bejing 08/08/08.

Lacey wins a "Silver Medal"…

Twenty three athletes including 4 U of A students will be competing for Olympic Gold for swimming & diving.  Frank Busch serving his 19th year as head coach for the U of A McKale Aquatic Center-swimming & diving.  Coach Busch is the proud recipient of the NCAA Co-Men’s Head Coach of the Year award and the Pac-10 Women’s Coach of the Year in 2005-2006.

Our personal favorite for swimming is Lacy Nymeyer!  What an inspiration she has been to all of us…! We knew her as a young baby able to walk at 6 months old. At such a young age she was driven…really driven.  Ed Nymeyer, Lacey’ grandfather was a big influence for her competitive edge. In runs in the family as Ed was a U of A grad with many titles for his role in the All American basketball conference in the late 1960′s. breaking records and holding many titles himself.  Stacey and Aaron Nymeyer, Laceys’ parents are the most humble and amazing people. The Nymeyer family must be proud…very proud.  Go Lacey…
